Privacy notice
The version in force on expound.com. Questions: info@expound.com.
Last updated September 24, 2026.
Expound Laboratories™ is a founder-led research and licensing lab based in the United States. This notice says what information expound.com collects, why, who handles it, and how to reach us about it. It is written to match what the site actually does.
Information you give us
If you use a sign-up form on this site, we ask for your first name, last name, work email address and, optionally, your employer.
If you use the Discuss one workflow form, we ask for your name, work email address, organization and, optionally, a short description of the workflow or decision you want to discuss.
If you email us at info@expound.com, we receive whatever you choose to send.
How we use it
- To send you the articles, releases and licensing news you signed up for.
- To reply to an inquiry you send through the Discuss one workflow form. An inquiry is not added to any mailing list.
- To reply to inquiries about licensing, conformance, design partnership and independent validation.
- To keep a record of who has asked us for early access to products in development.
We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Service providers
Sign-up forms are operated by Prefinery, a waitlist and referral service. When you submit a form, your entries are sent to Prefinery and stored in our Prefinery project. Prefinery may send you a confirmation message and may issue you a personal referral link. Prefinery's widget loads only on the pages that carry a sign-up form, and it may use cookies or browser storage to operate the form and the referral link. Prefinery's own privacy policy applies to its handling of that data.
The Discuss one workflow form is operated by Brizy, which hosts this site. When you submit it, your entries are stored in our Brizy project and emailed to us so we can reply.
Email to info@expound.com is handled by our email provider.
Other site data
This site is hosted on Brizy Cloud. Like any web host, it processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs used to run and secure the service.
Fonts are served by Google Fonts, and some pages embed videos from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube does not set tracking cookies until you play a video. Loading fonts or a video sends your IP address to Google.
Analytics, and your choice about it
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and whether anything is broken. Google acts as our analytics provider and receives your IP address and information about your visit.
Analytics only runs if you allow it. On your first visit a consent banner appears, provided by iubenda. Until you make a choice, no analytics data is sent to Google. If you decline, none is sent at all. You can change your mind at any time through the privacy controls on the site, and your choice is remembered on that browser.
We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not use analytics to build advertising profiles.
Sharing
We share personal information only with the service providers named above, in order to operate the site, the inquiry form and the sign-up list, and where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
We keep sign-up records while the list is active, or until you ask to be removed. We keep inquiries and email correspondence for as long as we need them to handle the matter and keep our own records.
Your choices
You can leave the list at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message we send, or by emailing info@expound.com. You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you at the same address, and we will respond.
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Where data is processed
We are based in the United States, and our service providers process data there and in the other locations where they operate.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
